What should I wear? - Dress in layers: T-shirt, sweatshirt, windbreaker - it can be chilly in May/June.
- Avoid wearing loose clothing - bicycle/aerobic shorts are best.
- Bring a pair of socks and a small towel; bring an additional dry paid to wear home.
- Bring a water bottle - this becomes more important as the weeks progress.
- Wear sun block; hats and sunglasses are recommended.
- Sneakers and socks for use with our Concept2 rowing machines.
- As you progress through the lessons, you may develop blisters on your hands - these are temporary but should be protected with bandages or tape. Gloves are not advised.
Where do I park? - The parking at Lake Wequaquet is crowded even early in the morning. This is due to fishermen and rowers. If there is room, park behind someone else from the LEARN-TO-ROW class.
- More parking is available along Shootflying Hill Road - just park and walk back to the beach.
- Please be sure not to park parallel to the stone wall near the boat ramp.
- For persons without beach stickers, they are not necessary until beach season begins in late June. After that, you may still park before 9am and after 5pm.
The Golden Rule of Rowing x 2
- Rule #1 - Be on time. In fact, aim to arrive at the landing at least 15 minutes before a scheduled lesson or practice. In rowing, unless you row a single, others depend on you to show up as scheduled - otherwise, they cannot row!
- Rule #2 - there is only one boss in the boat and that is the Cox.
